Chains
Chains.
Looped and glittering
Metal chains.
Twined around and about,
Intertwined.
Hooked here and there,
An adamantine lattice
For me to admire.
Enhancing your beauty,
Reflecting light,
Reflecting your promise to me.
And mine to you.
Tiny, twinkling mirrors of who we are,
One to the other.
Links, are we, in our own chain.
Built of trust and brightness,
Forged of pain and deep hearts.
Strong, unyielding,
Unable to be easily broken.
Or easily released.
These chains bind you to this place,
This time.
But you have been bound by far less obvious ties,
For quite some time now.
Chains.
